Challenge: New and veteran therapists needed training on how to encourage client attendance by helping clients find solutions to the reasons why they are missing appointments and by consistently giving consequences. The practice’s cancellation rate had been high due to unexcused absences.

Solution: I put together an ILT training program that includes:

• A facilitator guide

• A participant guide

• A slideshow presentation

Results: Instructors can deliver in-person training on reducing the client cancellation rate. The training is expected to reduce the client cancellation rate from 35% to less than 25%.
